Cash bids remain mostly mixed

Compared to last week, cash bids for were mostly mixed for wheat, corn, soybeans and sorghum, according to USDA reported prices, Oct. 18.

For the week ending Oct. 13, a decrease of 8,934 metric tons of corn inspected and weighed for export was reported while an increase of 905,509 metric tons of soybeans were inspected and weighed. Wheat inspected and weighed for export showed a decrease of 384,026 metric tons. Sorghum inspected and weighed for export reported a decrease of 15,541 metric tons.

Ethanol production for the week ending Oct. 7, was slightly higher at 932,000 barrels a day.

Wheat was up 3/4 to down 25 cents. Corn down 2 1/2 cents. Sorghum was down 6 1/4 to 1 1/4 cents. Soybeans were down 13 1/4 cents.

In the futures close, Kansas City December wheat was $9.44 1/2.

Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $10.09 1/2, down 7 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $10.96 to $11.46, up 3/4 cent; Portland, $8.75 to $9.40, unchanged to down 25 cents; St. Louis, $6.99 1/2 to $8.29 1/2, down 11 1/2 cents.

Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $7.16 to $7.31, down 2 1/2 cents; Minneapolis, $6.51 to $6.56, down 1 1/4 to 2 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $6.26 to $6.51, up 17 1/2 to down 1/2 cents; Omaha, $6.87 to $7.13, down 1/2 cent.

Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $13.82 to $14.07, down 3 1/4 to 13 1/4 cents; Minneapolis, $13.22 to $13.52, down 13 1/4 cents; southern Iowa, $12.92 to $12.97, down 13 1/4 cents; central Illinois processors, $13.42 to $13.72, down 13 1/4 cents.

Kansas City wheat prices Oct. 18, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $11.20 3/4 to $11.30 1/2, down 9 1/2 cents; 12% protein, $11.19 1/2 to $11.29 1/2, down 9 1/2 cents; 13% protein, $10.99 1/2 to $11.09 1/2, up 12 1/2 cents; 14% protein, $10.99 1/2 to $11.09 1/2, unchanged. U.S. No. 2 soft red winter wheat was unavailable. U.S. No. 2 white corn was unavailable.
