Olympic athlete with agriculture roots competing in the Paris Olympics

They say milk does a body good and for professional runner and dairy farmer Elle Purrier St. Pierre, it has fueled her to a second Olympic Games in Paris, France. St. Pierre competed for Team USA at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan, in 2021, where she placed 10th in the women’s 1,500-meter event.

St. Pierre holds the United States indoor mile and 3,000-meter records and is the reigning 3,000-meter world champion. She qualified for the 2024 Olympics in the 1,500-meter event and will race for her first Olympic medal on Aug. 6.

St. Pierre grew up in Vermont on a family dairy, where she learned the value of hard work and determination. She developed a passion for running in High School and specializes in running long and middle-distance races.

St. Pierre still lives in Vermont on a dairy farm with her husband and young son, and when she’s not training or helping with the cows, she is often promoting the dairy industry on her social media accounts, as well as attending events like World Dairy Expo.
