An agricultural pesticide collection day is set for 8 a.m. to noon March 5 at the Leeroy Colgan Building, 901 S. Houston Ave., Lamesa, Texas.

Farmers and ranchers can take unwanted or surplus agricultural pesticides and dispose of them free and anonymously. There is a 2,000-pound limit per participant. Materials accepted include outdated, discontinued or unwanted pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, rodenticides, nematicides and growth regulators. Also accepted are empty, triple-rinsed plastic containers up to 55-gallon maximum.

Materials not accepted include dioxins, empty totes, fertilizers, fumigant canisters, household hazardous wastes, motor oil, paint, pesticide rinsate, phostoxins, propane or butane cylinders, radioactive substances and tires.
