Tulsa Livestock Auction report
The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 3,436 head selling on Sept. 24, compared to 2,518 head a week ago and 3,393 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, steers were selling $3 to $5 lower. Heifers were selling $1 to $3 lower. Quality and demand was good. The total receipts included 16% of the feeder cattle over 600 lbs, while 41% of the total receipts are heifers. Slaughter cows were selling mostly steady to $2 higher. Slaughter bulls were selling $5 lower. A total of 484 cows and bulls sold with 48% going to packers.
