Ada livestock auction report
The Southern Oklahoma Livestock Auction, Ada, Oklahoma, reported estimated receipts of 1,600 head selling on July 18, compared to 2,371 head a week ago and 1,519 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market New Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, steer and heifer calves were selling $1 to $3 lower on comparable sales. Yearling cattle were not fully tested but comparable sales were mostly steady. Demand was good for weaned calves, moderate for unweaned and short weaned calves. Overall quality was plain to average, and not as attractive as a week ago. Heifers made up 43% and cattle over 600 pounds 32% of the supply.
