Apache Livestock Auction report

The Apache Livestock Auction, Apache, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 1,731 head selling on July 26, compared to 1,634 head a week ago and 1,189 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to a week ago, there were not enough comparable feeder steers for a market test. Feeder heifers were selling $2 to $3 lower. Steer and heifer calves were selling steady to $3 higher. Quality was good to attractive with good demand. The supply included 55% over 600 lbs and 47% heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling steady to $2 higher. Packer demand was moderate. A total of 208 cows and bulls sold with 74% going to packers.
