Salina livestock auction report
The Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., Salina, Kansas, reported receipts of 2,728 head selling on Oct. 25, compared to 2,224 head a week ago, and 2,010 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kansas.
Compared to a week ago, more rain has hit the area again and reflecting in the receipts. Steers 900 to 1050 pounds were selling $1 lower, 900 pounds and under, a lower undertone was noted on a limited supply. Heifers 700 to 950 pounds were selling $1 to $6 higher, 700 pounds and under, a lower undertone was noted on a light offering. Trade and demand was moderate. The feeder supply included 66% steers and 34% heifers, with 78% 600 pounds and over.
