San Angelo livestock auction report

The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Co., Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported receipts of 1,556 head selling on Feb. 1, compared to 1,891 head a week ago and 1,143 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to a week ago, steer, heifer calves and yearlings were selling steady. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were selling weak to $1 lower. Stock cows and pairs were selling steady. Trading and demand was moderate. Quality was mostly average to plain. The supply included 6% slaughter cows, 1% slaughter bulls, 85% feeders and 8% stock cows and pairs. The feeders included 55% steers and bulls, 40% weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 200 to 300 lbs., 190.00 to 192.50; 400 to 500 lbs., 190.00 to 193.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 164.00 to 170.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 144.00 to 151.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 137.00 to 141.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 288 lbs., 180.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 174.00 to 187.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 173.00 to 184.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 152.00 to 163.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 134.00 to 143.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 130.00 to 136.00. Stock cows/heifers: All were pregnancy tested and all were sold by the head. Medium and large frame 1, 1425.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1260.00 to 1275.00. Medium and large frame 2, 800.00 to 1050.00.

Pairs: All sold by the pair. All have 150- to 350-lb. calves. Medium and large frame 2, 810.00 to 1100.00.
