Pratt Livestock Auction report
The Pratt Livestock Auction, Pratt, Kansas, reported estimated receipts of 2,800 head selling Dec. 13, compared to 3,971 a week ago and 3,406 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Dodge City, Kansas.
This is the mid-session report. Compared to a week ago, feeder steers 700 to 800 pounds were selling $1 to $4 lower, 800 to 900 pounds were selling steady to $5 lower. Feeder heifers 600 to 700 pounds were selling steady to $1 lower, 700 to 800 pounds were selling $5 to $8 lower. Steer calves were selling $4 to $5 lower on comparable weights. Heifer calves 500 to 550 pounds were selling $8 lower on limited comparable weights. A weaker undertone was noted on all other comparable weights. Overall, demand was moderate to good, quality mostly average to attractive. The feeder supply was 51% steers, 49% heifers, with 82% over 600 pounds.
