High Plains Journal Live latest commitment to farmers and ranchers

In this week’s edition, readers will find information about a new event for 2025—High Plains Journal Live. A multi-day tradeshow designed to provide farmers and ranchers with practical insights, shared experiences and the opportunity to connect with people who know agriculture best.

HPJ Live is set for Aug. 6 to 8, 2025, at the Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center in Wichita, Kansas.

HPJ is known for its U events that touch on valuable education around each segment of the farm economy—and HPJ Live will continue to deliver on that. The U events have provided farmers and ranchers with an opportunity to learn about the latest in production and marketing, beginning with High Plains corn, soybeans, wheat, sorghum, cotton, alfalfa and forage. Later additions included Cattle U and Soil Health U, which became popular, must-see events.

Producer panels were a staple of the U events, where farmers and ranchers could share their expertise with attendees and answer questions that relate to the audience. Over the past 15 years, one of the key components after each event was getting feedback from attendees. The evaluation process also included getting input from vendors and speakers. Time of year was important, and finding that “sweet spot” for timeliness and a venue that could accommodate a large gathering of farmers and ranchers and vendors at a central location became a common theme.

Consensus started to form, indicating a tradeshow that could showcase top products and services for farmers and ranchers was needed and that the information presented in “U events” was vital. That led to a vision that a multi-day event could put all those resources and expertise into a single setting.

The commitment to education remains as strong as it did with stand-alone U events. Programming will draw on expertise from Alfalfa U, Cattle U, Cotton U, Soil Health U, Sorghum U and Wheat U.

We believe HPJ Live bridges all the sectors and allows participants to brainstorm and visit with experts in one event that makes it economical for farmers and ranchers to attend.

HPJ Live promises to bring together farmers, ranchers and agricultural experts for a three-day, in-person experience that blends learning, networking and hands-on interaction with top industry vendors.

One of our obligations—regardless of the event—is to present information that a producer could apply on a practical basis on his own operation. We pledge to keep our promise, and offering only the cream of the crop speakers is our commitment to present the most relevant information to attendees.

HPJ has been a trusted information source for more than 75 years, and the commitment to HPJ Live means we are excited about the next 75 years, and we want our readers to be as equally enthused about an event that can be a “one-stop, can’t miss event” in the center of the High Plains.

More information will continue to be shared over the upcoming months. We encourage readers to sign up for the event newsletter at hpj.com to receive the latest updates and announcements. We are eager to see you at HPJ Live.
