FFA, 4-H youth compete in southwest district contest
According to judgingcard.com, nearly 200 students participated in the FFA and 4-H divisions at the Kansas Southwest District Livestock Evaluation and Entomology contest, March 29 in Dodge City, Kansas.
Students placed six classes of livestock and seniors gave two sets of oral reasons, while junior division gave one set of reasons and answered a set of questions.
In the Senior FFA division, Chancey Hauck, LaCrosse FFA was the high individual. Ulysses FFA was the high point team. In the Junior FFA division, Ethan Petersilie was the high individual. The LaCrosse FFA team was high point team.
In the Senior 4-H division, Kansas Lange, Pawnee County 4-H was the high individual. Meade County 4-H had the champion team. In the Junior 4-H Division, Addison Maxwell of Pawnee County 4-H was high individual. Pawnee County 4-H had the champion junior 4-H team.
In the entomology contest, Sublette FFA was the high point team, with Jonathan Froese of the same chapter was high individual.
