Design & Grow Gardening Workshop offers information for beginning and longtime gardeners

The Design & Grow Gardening Workshop will be packed with ideas and information for beginning and longtime gardeners, alike. It is an opportunity to learn from the pros, garner ideas for your garden and landscape, and find inspiration in new plants and gardening experiences.

Steve Owens, owner of Bustani Plant Nursery in Stillwater, Oklahoma, specializes in growing heat tolerant & hard to find plants. He is also the former host of the popular PBS show, Oklahoma Gardening, and will speak on Cool Plants & Fun Ideas for Attractive Garden Displays, followed by a presentation on Prairie Rock Gardens.

Other topics will include landscaping, pruning trees & shrubs, native plants, seed starting, no till vegetable gardening, and many more.

The daylong Design & Grow Gardening Workshop will be Feb. 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Sedgwick County Extension Education Center at 7001 W 21st Street North (21st & Ridge Rd) in Wichita. Registration fee is $15.00 per person prior to Feb. 2. After Feb. 2 the fee is $25.00 per person; deadline for registration is Feb. 8. Boxed lunches may be purchased in advance for an additional $10.
