Apache Livestock Auction report
The Apache Livestock Auction, Apache, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 2,210 head selling on Feb. 1, compared to 2,323 head a week ago and 1,643 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers and heifers were selling steady to $2 lower. Steer calves were selling $2 to $6 higher, heifer calves were selling steady to $7 higher. Quality was good to attractive with moderate demand for feeders and good demand for grazing flesh calves. The supply included 61% over 600 pounds and 41% heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling steady to $2 higher. Packer demand was moderate. A total of 104 cows and bulls sold with 50% going to packers.
