Ogallala Livestock Auction report

The Ogallala Livestock Auction Market, Ogallala, Nebraska, reported receipts of 6,870 head selling on Feb. 8, compared to 6,900 head a week ago and 2,325 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.

Compared to a week ago, steers under 600 pounds were selling steady to $6 higher and 600 pounds higher were selling steady to $2 lower. Heifers were selling steady to $7 lower. Demand was good. Steers accounted for 63% and heifers 37% of the offering, 87% of the offering weighed over 600 pounds.
