Springfield Livestock market report

The Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Missouri, reported receipts of 742 head selling on Feb. 7, compared to 1,915 head a week ago and 1,830 head last year, according to the USDA-Missouri Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Jefferson City, Missouri.

Compared to a week ago, steers and heifers were selling steady on a very limited test. Demand was moderate, but supply was light. Receipts curtailed as the trade area was in a winter weather advisory. The feeder cattle supply included 55% steers, 3% dairy steers, 38% heifers and 5% bulls. The feeder cattle supply over 600 pounds was 55%.
