San Angelo livestock auction report

The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Co., Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported receipts of 1,137 head selling on Feb. 8, compared to 1,556 head a week ago and 1,684 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to a week ago, steer and heifer calves and yearlings were selling firm to $2 higher. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were selling $1 to $3 higher. Stock cows and pairs were selling steady in light test. Trading and demand was moderate. Quality full range from attractive to plain. The supply included 10% slaughter cows, 1% slaughter bulls, 85% feeders, 4% stock cows and pairs. The feeders included 50% steers and bulls, 35% weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 300 to 400 lbs., 194.00 to 200.50; 400 to 500 lbs., 189.00 to 195.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 165.00 to 174.00, few 182.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 146.00 to 155.00, few 162.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 184.00 to 189.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 174.00 to 188.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 154.00 to 164.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 135.00 to 144.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 132.00 to 136.00; 800 to 850 lbs., 131.00 to 136.00. Pairs: All sold by the pair. All have 150- to 350-lb. calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1275.00.

Stocker/feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young, 800 to 1000 90.00 to 94.00 hundredweight; young and middle age, 800 to 1075 lbs., 80.00 to 88.00 hundredweight; middle age, 900 to 1450 lbs., 71.00 to 75.00 hundredweight; thin and or aged, 800 to 1300 lbs., 60.00 to 68.00 hundredweight.
