Tulia Livestock Auction report
The Tulia Livestock Auction, Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 3,050 head selling on Feb. 8, compared to 3,299 head a week ago and 2,004 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.
Compared to a week ago, yearling steers and heifers were selling steady to $3 lower. Trade remains active as the drought continues and yearlings are having to come off of wheat early. Demand was moderate to good. Slaughter cows and bulls made up less than 1%, 0% replacements and 99% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 50% steers and bulls and 50% heifers. Approximately 75% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
