Apache Livestock Auction report

The Apache Livestock Auction, Apache, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 2,367 head Feb. 15, compared to 1,099 head last week and 845 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to last week, feeder steers sold steady to $2 lower, feeder heifers weighing 600 to 700 pounds $4 to $5 lower, 700 to 850 pounds sold $1 to $4 higher. Steer calves sold $2 to $7 higher. Heifer calves sold $2 to $3 higher. Quality was fair to attractive with good demand for the calves. The supply included 77% over 600 pounds and 34% heifers. Slaughter cows and bulls steady to $1 higher. Packer demand was moderate. A total of 162 cows and bulls sold with 30% going to packers.
