High Plains direct slaughter cattle sales report

High Plains weekly weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending Feb. 18, totaled 127,306 head selling, compared to 66,379 head a week ago and 108,593 head last year, according to the USDA Livestock, Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.

The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.

Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% choice, 20,482 head, 1,250 to 1,600 lbs., 128.00 to 130.50 (129.61); 65 to 80% choice, 13,094 head, 1,075 to 1,530 lbs., 126.00 to 130.00 (129.88); 35 to 65% choice, 6,609 head, 1,140 to 1,425 lbs., 128.00 to 130.00 (129.93). Dressed delivered basis, over 80% choice, 11,430 head, 822 to 1,053 lbs., 203.00 to 207.00 (205.02); 65 to 80% choice. 6,936 head, 784 to 977 lbs., 205.00 to 206.00 (205.02); 35 to 65% choice, 38 head, 848 lbs., 205.00.
