San Angelo livestock auction report
The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Co., Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported receipts of 1,350 head selling on March 15, compared to 1,100 head a week ago and 1,084 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas.
Compared to a week ago, steer and heifer calves and yearlings were selling $1 to $2 lower. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were selling fully $4 to $6 lower. Stock cows and pairs were selling firm to moderately higher. Trading was fairly active, demand was good for stock cows and pairs but only moderate for other classes. Quality was full range from attractive to plain. The supply included 15% slaughter cows, 1% slaughter bulls, 64% feeders, 20% stock cows and pairs. The feeders included 55% steers and bulls, 40% weighed over 600 pounds.

Stock cows/heifers: All were pregnancy tested and all were sold by the head. Medium and large frame 1, heifers, heavy bred 1225.00; solid mouth, heavy bred 1350.00 to 1575.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, solid mouth, heavy bred 1000.00 to 1300.00. Medium and large frame 2, 850.00 to 1000.00.
Pairs: All sold by the pair. All have 150- to 350-lb. calves. Medium and large frame 1, baby tooth cows 1550.00 to 1750.00, set 3 in 1, 1900.00; solid mouth 1450.00 to 1675.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, baby tooth 1200.00 to 1300.00; solid mouth 1125.00 to 1250.00; short solid mouth 900.00 to 1200.00. Medium and large frame 2, 900.00 to 100.00.
Open heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 810 to 950 lbs., 925.00 to 935.00 per head.
