April 3 meeting in Girard will focus on pasture weeds and brush

K-State Research & Extension’s Wildcat District is hosting a meeting that will focus on dealing with weeds and brush in pastures. The meeting will be held on April 3 at the Girard High School Cafeteria located at 151 West Cedar. Registration for this event will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the program set to start at 6:45 p.m.

Wildcat Extension District livestock agent Keith Martin will start the meeting with a discussion about managing pasture weeds with a focus on Broomsedge Bluestem (i.e., poverty grass) and noxious weeds. Doug Shoup,the KSRE agronomist for southeast Kansas, will then discuss brush control in pastures.
