According to USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, Delta Regional Field Office, Arkansas, there were 5.2 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending March 25. Topsoil moisture supplies were 1 percent very short, 4 percent short, 71 percent adequate, and 24 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies were 2 percent very short, 6 percent short, 71 percent adequate, and 21 percent surplus. Low temperatures ranged from 35.3 degrees Fahrenheit at Lead Hill to 48.0 degrees Fahrenheit at Des Arc and Stuttgart. Highs ranged from 60.7 degrees Fahrenheit at Jonesboro to 73.4 degrees Fahrenheit at Crossett. Precipitation was light throughout the state, with the highest concentration occurring in the north central part of the state with an average of 0.54 inches.
