I look forward to watching him excel in this new role,” said Gov. Jeff Colyer.

Keen received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Wichita State University. He also earned master’s degrees in economics and business administration from Wichita State before receiving his law degree from the University of Kansas.

In addition to his membership on a number of industry boards and commissions, Keen has served as the securities commissioner of Kansas and the chairman of the board of the Kansas Independent Oil and Gas Association. He also spent five years on the Kansas Commission on Veterans Affairs, four years on the Kansas Board of Tax Appeals and is currently co-owner and operations manager of Keen Oil Company, LLC based in Winfield, Kansas.
