Arkansas livestock auction summary
The summary of livestock auctions in Arkansas for the week ending March 30, showed estimated receipts of 5,605 head selling, compared to 11,020 head a week ago, and 8,440 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling $4 to $17 lower. Feeder heifers were selling $3 to $10 lower. Slaughter cows were selling $3 higher. Slaughter bulls were selling $1 higher. The supply included 3,600 stocker and feeder calves, 865 feeder yearlings, 430 replacement cows, 600 slaughter cows and 110 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 42% yearling heifers.
