Ericson Livestock Auction report
The Ericson Livestock Auction, Ericson, Nebraska, reported receipts of 2,400 head selling on April 7, compared to 3,545 head selling at the March 24 sale and 2,020 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.
Compared to the March 24 sale, steers were selling $2 to $4 lower except for 600 to 700 pound steers selling $2 to $6 higher. Heifers were selling steady to $4 higher. Demand was good from the buyers in the crowd with internet activity noticed. The calf and feeder supply included 59% steers and 41% heifers with nearly 75% of the run weighing over 600 pounds.
