According to USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, Delta Regional Field Office, Arkansas, there were 4.8 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending April 22. Topsoil moisture supplies were 1 percent very short, 3 percent short, 61 percent adequate, and 35 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies were 2 percent very short, 5 percent short, 66 percent adequate, and 27 percent surplus. Low temperatures ranged from 32.6 degrees Fahrenheit at Calico Rock to 47.0 degrees Fahrenheit at Rohwer. Highs ranged from 60.1 degrees Fahrenheit at Kingston to 74.2 degrees Fahrenheit at Pine Bluff. Moderate precipitation was received throughout the state, with the highest concentration occurring in the south central part of the state with an average of 1.67 inches.
