San Angelo livestock auction report

The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Co., Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported receipts of 1,200 head selling on May 10, compared to 1,277 head a week ago and 840 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to a week ago, steer and heifer calves and yearlings were selling weak to $2 lower. Slaughter cows and slaughter bulls were selling steady. Stock cows and pairs were trading weak to slightly lower. Trading and demand was moderate. Quality was not as attractive as a week ago as the selection was mostly average to plain. All classes of livestock were showing the stress of dry range and pasture conditions. The supply included 14% slaughter cows, 1% slaughter bulls, 75% feeders, 10% stock cows and pairs. The feeders included 55% steers and bulls, 35% weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 238 lbs., 210.00; 600 to 650 lbs., 154.00 to 160.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 188.00 to 194.00; 400 to 450 lbs., 172.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 153.00 to 162.00, few 167.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 140.00 to 143.00; 800 to 900 lbs., 130.00 to 132.00. Medium and large frame 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 162.00 to 176.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 155.00 to 171.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 143.00 to 153.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 134.00 to 140.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 123.00 to 127.00.
