Woodward Livestock Auction report
The Woodward Livestock Auction, Woodward, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 4,328 head selling on May 24, compared to 7,193 head a week ago and 6,400 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling $4 to $10 higher. Feeder heifers were selling $4 to $8 higher. Sales of steer and heifer calves were limited, but a higher undertone was noted. Demand was very good for feeders, good for calves. Fill was average to full. The feeder cattle supply included 89% over 600 pounds with 49% heifers.
