Warmer temperatures, precipitation received
Warmer temperatures were accompanied by precipitation throughout the state for the week ending May 27, according to USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, Mountain Regional Field Office, Montana. Reports indicate that producers are caught up with seeding due to the warmer weather. The high temperature for the state was recorded in Biddle, Broadus and Powderville at 94 degrees. The low temperature for the week was recorded in Plentywood at 26 degrees. Precipitation was reported at 85 weather stations. The highest recorded precipitation for the week was at Red Lodge with 2.47 inches of moisture. Topsoil moisture conditions for the state were 87 percent adequate to surplus, above last year’s 66 percent. Subsoil moisture conditions were 82 percent adequate to surplus which is above last year’s 80 percent.
