Tulia Livestock Auction report

The Tulia Livestock Auction, Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,100 head selling on May 31, compared to 2,275 head a week ago and 3,598 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to a week ago, feeder steers and heifers were selling $1 to $3 higher. Trade was fairly active on good demand. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling steady to $2 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 2%, less than 1% replacements and 98% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 69% steers and bulls, 31% heifers, approximately 70% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.
