Tulia Livestock Auction report

The Tulia Livestock Auction, Inc., Tulia, Texas, reported receipts of 2,126 head selling on June 7, compared to 2,100 head a week ago and 3,576 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to a week ago, feeder steers and heifers were selling steady to $3 lower. Trade was fairly active on good demand. Slaughter cows and bulls were selling $1 to $4 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls made up 3%, 1% replacements and 96% feeders. The feeder supply consisted of 44% steers and bulls, 56% heifers. Approximately 76% of the run weighed over 600 pounds.

Steers: Medium and large frame 1, 400 to 500 lbs., 155.00 to 163.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 145.00 to 155.00; lots 643 lbs., 150.00 to 152.00, lot 636 lb. calves 142.50; 650 to 700 lbs., 142.75 to 144.00; 700 to 750 lbs., 140.75 to 145.50, calves or full 135.00 to 139.00; lot 817 lbs., 137.00; 850 to 900 lbs., 135.00 to 135.85; lot 921 lbs., 125.75.
