Arkansas livestock auction summary

The summary of livestock auctions in Arkansas for the week ending June 15, showed estimated receipts of 11,335 head selling, compared to 9,735 head a week ago and 9,110 head last year, according to the USDA-Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service, Little Rock, Arkansas.

Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling steady to $7 lower. Feeder heifers were selling mostly steady to $4 lower. Slaughter cows were selling steady. Slaughter bulls were selling $2 higher. The supply included 7,250 stocker and feeder calves, 2,700 feeder yearlings, 410 replacement cows, 900 slaughter cows and 85 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 43% yearling heifers.
