San Angelo livestock auction report

The San Angelo Producers Livestock Auction Co., Report, San Angelo, Texas, reported receipts of 1,596 head selling on June 21, compared to 1,036 head a week ago and 1,229 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, San Angelo, Texas.

Compared to a week ago, steer and heifer calves and yearlings were selling $2 to $4 higher. Slaughter cows were selling firm to $1 higher, slaughter bulls were selling $1 to $2 higher. Stock cows and pairs were trading steady. Trading was fairly active, demand was good. Quality was full range from attractive to plain. The supply included 10% slaughter cows, 1% slaughter bulls, 84% feeders, 5% stock cows and pairs. The feeders included 50% steers and bulls, 30% weighed over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 500 to 600 lbs., 163.50 to 169.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 145.00 to 149.00, few 155.00; 700 to 750 lbs., 140.00 to 142.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 350 to 400 lbs., 184.00 to 194.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 169.00 to 179.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 150.00 to 163.00; 600 to 650 lbs., 138.50 to 142.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 132.00 to 134.50; 800 to 850 lbs., 127.00 to 133.00. Medium and large frame 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 166.00 to 177.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 150.00 to 166.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 137.00 to 148.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 129.00 to 135.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 123.00 to 127.00; 800 to 900 lbs., 118.50 to 125.00. Stock cows/heifers: All were pregnancy tested, all were sold by the head. Medium and large frame 2, 800.00 to 940.00. Medium frame 2 to 3, 550.00 to 640.00.

Pairs: All were sold by the pair. All have 150- to 350-lbs., calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 1075.00 to 1125.00. Medium and large frame 2, 900.00 to 1025.00. Medium frame 2 to 3, 490.00 to 790.00.

Stocker/feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young, 800 to 1000 lbs., 90.00 to 100.00 per hundredweight; young and middle age, 800 to 1100 lbs., 75.00 to 85.00 per hundredweight; middle age, 900 to 1450 lbs., 63.00 to 70.00 per hundredweight; thin and or aged, 800 to 1375 lbs., 60.00 to 63.00 per hundredweight.
