Apache Livestock Auction report
The Apache Livestock Auction, Apache, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 1,954 head selling on June 28, compared to 2,200 head a week ago, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers were selling $3 to $4 lower. Feeder heifers were not tested. Steer and heifer calves were selling mostly $4 to $5 lower on a limited test. Quality was good to attractive with moderate demand. The supply included 61% over 600 pounds and 40% heifers. Slaughter cows were selling steady to $2 higher. Slaughter bulls were selling $2 higher. Packer demand was moderate. A total of 191 cows and bulls sold with 72% going to packers. Apache auction will be closed for the July 4th holiday.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 4 to 5 years old, 1150 to 1300 lbs., with 100- to 200-lb. calves, average quality 1010.00 to 1225.00; 2 to 5 years old, 675 to 1000 lbs., with 100- to 200-lb. calves, low quality 500.00 to 600.00.
