The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Nebraska, reported receipts of 1,246 head selling on July 6, compared to 3,156 head selling June 22 and 1,858 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.
Compared to the June 22 sale, 900 to 950 pound steers were selling $10 higher. Demand was good from the buyers in the crowd. Around 450 head of harvest cows and bulls were included in the receipts. The calf and feeder supply included 80% steers with nearly 90% of the run weighing over 600 pounds.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 10 head, 242 lbs., 525.00 per head; 28 head, 283 lbs., 590.00 per head; 15 head, 626 lbs., 144.50; 26 head, 720 lbs., 152.00; 780 to 792 lbs., 149.60 to 149.75 (149.71).
