The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Nebraska, reported receipts of 4,250 head selling on Jan. 19, compared to 4,040 head a week ago and 3,800 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.
Compared to a week ago, steers over 600 pounds were selling $3 to $6 higher and heifers 600 to 750 pounds were selling $4 to $6 higher. Demand was good from the buyers in the crowd. The calf and feeder supply included 62% steers and 38% heifers with nearly 86% of the run weighing over 600 pounds.
