Lexington livestock market report
The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Nebraska, reported receipts of 3,090 head selling on Dec. 29, compared to 2,546 head selling on Dec. 15 and 2,185 head last year, according to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Kearney, Nebraska.
Compared to the Dec. 15 sale, steers 550 to 850 pounds were selling steady to $2 lower. Demand was good from the buyers in the crowd. The calf and feeder supply included 50% steers and 50% heifers with near 78% of the run weighing over 600 pounds.
