Ozarks Regional livestock auction report
The Ozarks Regional Stockyards, West Plains, Missouri, reported receipts of 4,406 head selling July 10, compared to 5,885 head June 26 and 3,322 head last year, according to the USDA-Missouri Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Jefferson City, Missouri.
Compared to the June 26 sale, steer and heifer calves were selling $6 to $12 higher with yearlings selling $3 to $8 higher. Demand was very good and improved throughout the day on a heavy supply. The gains were reflective of the improvements in the cattle market since the last reported sale. The feeder cattle supply included 55% steers, 41% heifers and 4% bulls. The feeder cattle supply over 600 pounds was 49%.
