Above-normal temperatures reported

Wyoming experienced above normal temperatures for the week ending July 22, according to USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, Mountain Regional Field Office, Wyoming. Twenty of the 33 reporting stations reported above average temperatures for the week with the high temperature of 98 degrees recorded at Greybull and Worland and a low of 35 degrees at Yellowstone. Below normal moisture was reported at 22 of the 33 reporting stations. Three reporting stations had no precipitation. Buford reported the most moisture with 1.74 inches. A reporter from western Wyoming noted that conditions are still dry with cool nights and hot during the days. A reporter from Southwestern Wyoming indicated that the weather was hot and windy most of the week but they received some rain showers and cooler temperatures over the weekend. Wheat yields appear to be good for those who did not have weather damaged fields.
