Howell County MU Extension will sponsor the ReproGene 2018 workshop at 4:30 p.m., Aug. 16 at the Howell County Extension Office, 1376 Bill Virdon Blvd, West Plains.
The workshop is designed for beef producers interested in increasing profits by producing more productive cattle through genetic selection tools and the use of artificial insemination.
Jared Decker, MU Extension state beef cattle breeding and genetics specialist, and David Patterson, MU Extension state beef cattle reproduction specialist, will discuss an overview of artificial insemination synchronization protocols, evaluation protocols, split-time AI, sex-sorted semen, EPD and genomic prediction and how to use these technologies to increase profitability.
