Pratt 3 p.m. livestock auction report
The Pratt Livestock Auction, Pratt, Kansas, reported receipts of 2,666 head selling on Aug. 16, as of 3 p.m., according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Dodge City, Kansas.
Compared to a week ago, feeder steers 800 to 900 pounds were selling steady to $2 higher, 900 to 1000 pounds were selling steady to firm. Feeder heifers 700 to 800 pounds were selling steady $3 to $4 higher, 900 to 1000 pounds were selling $2 to $3 higher. There were not enough steer and heifer calves of comparable weights for a market test. Demand was moderate to good. Quality was average to mostly attractive.
