American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers revises ag baling twine standard

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers has completed revision ANSI/ASAE S315.5, Agricultural Baling Twine for Automatic Balers.

The revision changed the description for the number of knotters and increased the knot strength limit for large square balers. Clarity was added to discard a portion of center-drawn twine before sampling to determine product strength. Also, the formula for calculating the yield of twine was corrected.
