Tulsa Livestock Auction report
The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 2,012 head selling on Aug. 20, compared to 2,360 head a week ago and 1,536 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, steers were selling $4 to $7 higher. Heifers were selling $3 lower. Quality was good. Demand was good. Receipts over 600 pounds was 21% of the offerings, while 38% were heifers. Slaughter cows were selling $2 to $4 higher. Slaughter bulls were selling $2 to $3 higher. A total of 270 cows and bulls sold with 68% going to packers.
