Grain market close

The USDA Market News Service, Greeley, Colo., in the closing grain report for Sept. 11, reported in futures trading that Chicago December soft red winter wheat was $5.18 3/4, down 9 1/2 cents; December corn, $3.66 3/4, down 1/2 cent; and November soybeans, $8.31 3/4, down 13 1/2 cents.

The export bid for direct Gulf delivery of No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, rail, $5.82 3/4, down 8 cents; No. 2 soft red winter wheat, barge, $5.48 3/4 to $5.53 3/4, down 14 1/2 to 9 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow corn, barge, $4.01 3/4 to $4.04 3/4, down 1/2 to 2 1/2 cents; No. 2 yellow sorghum, rail, $7.62, down 1 cent; No. 2 yellow sorghum, barge, unavailable; and No. 2 yellow soybeans, barge, $8.62 3/4 to $8.31 3/4, down 13 1/2 cents.

Colby, Kan., unit train wheat bid was $4.63.

In Denver and the surrounding area, hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, was $4.53 to $4.78.

No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, north central Colorado, was mostly 8 cents lower, at $4.43 to $4.63.

In northeast Colorado, wheat was $4.40 to $4.60.

In east central Colorado, wheat was $4.51 to $4.58.

In southeast Colorado, wheat was $4.53 to $4.78.

In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, wheat bids were $4.43 to $4.63.

No. 2 yellow corn in north central Colorado was steady and $3.82 per bushel.

In northeast Colorado, the country elevator corn bids were $3.19 to $3.52.

In east central Colorado, corn was $3.07 to $3.32.

In southeast Colorado, corn was $3.12 to $3.67.

In southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming, corn bids were $3.17 to $3.37 per bushel.

No. 2 yellow sorghum in southeast Colorado was steady at $5.21 to $5.66 per cwt.

No. 1 yellow soybeans in southwest Nebraska were 13 to 14 cents lower at $6.81 to $6.84 per bushel.

White millet in Colorado, southwest Nebraska and southeast Wyoming was $7.25 to $8.50 per cwt., mostly $7.25 to $8.

Sunflowers were $15 to $18 cwt.

In Denver and surrounding areas, corn was $3.82 per bushel. Barley was unavailable.

In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, pinto beans were steady $21 per cwt; in North Dakota and Minnesota, pinto beans were steady $22 to $23. In North Dakota and Minnesota, black beans were steady $26. Great Northerns were steady at $21 in northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska. In North Dakota and Minnesota, navy beans were steady $22. In northeast Colorado, Wyoming and western Nebraska, light red kidneys were steady $35; in North Dakota and Minnesota, light red kidneys were steady $35.
