Tulsa Livestock Auction report
The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 2,518 head selling on Sept. 17, compared to 3,391 head a week ago and 3,052 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Compared to a week ago, steers were selling $6 to $8 higher. Feeder heifers were selling $7 to $9 higher. Demand was good. Quality was plain through attractive. The offering included 24% of the receipt totals were feeder cattle over 600 pounds, while 44% of the total receipts were heifer. Slaughter cows were selling mostly steady to $2 higher. Slaughter bulls were selling $1 higher. A total of 353 cows and bulls sold with 58% going to packers.
