Texas Section Society for Range Management hosts annual meeting in Lubbock Oct. 10-12

The Texas Section Society for Range Management will be hosting its annual meeting in Lubbock at the MCM Elegante Hotel and the National Ranching Heritage Center on Oct. 10 to 12. The theme for this year’s meeting is “Land Stewardship: Rangelands Providing for Society” presented by the Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation.

Participants can expect informative sessions from some of the most qualified experts in the industry discussing land stewardship, the ecological significance of fire on the Texas landscape, data-driven grazing decisions and much more.  

Jim Bret Campbell, executive director for the NRHC will present the opening session on Wednesday after a delicious chuck wagon lunch. Tours of the NRHC will begin following the presentations.

Thursday’s events will consist of presentations from industry leaders and ranchers. Each will focus on land stewardship. There will be an awards luncheon with presentations, and an evening reception and banquet

Friday morning’s program will begin with the past president’s breakfast in the Heritage Center Room at the MCM Elegante. A technical tour focused on remote sensing, and drone use in ranching and agriculture will follow at the Texas Tech University Range Area. The meeting will conclude at noon.
