Tulsa Livestock Auction report

The Tulsa Livestock Auction, Tulsa, Oklahoma, reported receipts of 3,911 head selling on Oct. 1, compared to 3,436 head a week ago and 3,440 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Compared to a week ago, steers were selling $3 to $5 higher. Heifers were selling $5 to $7 higher. Demand was good. Quality was plain through attractive. The offering 24% of the receipt totals were feeder cattle over 600 pounds while 42% of the total receipts were heifers. Slaughter cows were selling $3 to $5 lower. Slaughter bulls were selling $2 lower. A total of 438 cows and bulls sold with 58% going to packers.
