Haywire ranch hands emerge victorious at Kansas Championship Ranch Rodeo
With the win, the Haywire team now is qualified to compete at the World Championship Ranch Rodeo, Nov. 8 to 11 in Amarillo. A number of other Kansas teams have qualified for this year’s WCRR at sanctioned events throughout the year.
Second place at the Kansas championships was the team from Eight Over Quarter Circle & Stinson of Abilene. Team members were Josh Breeding, Austin Rathbun, Ty Bryant, Zack Parkin and Kolby Boos.
The third place team from Lonesome Pine of Cedar Point consisted of Bud, Frank, Makenzie and Troy Higgs; Travis Duncan; and Paul Osgood. Fourth place was a tie between Beachner Brothers Livestock of Erie and Snyder and Woolfolk of Protection and Wilmore. Beachner was represented by Calvin, Cody, Caden and Gina Kendall; Ty Swiler; and Kris Vitt. Snyder and Woolfolk team members were Tray, Toby, Chayder and Colby Snyder; Tyler Woolfolk; and Frank Morton.
Other event winners were Beachner Brothers in the wild cow milking and calf branding; and Snyder and Woolfolk in the ranch bronc riding.
The top cowboy was Kolby Stock of Stock and Felt at Redfield. Morton with Snyder and Woolfolk was the runner-up top cowboy.
TRR Peppy Kitty, ridden by Toby Snyder with Snyder Ranch, was the top horse. The reserve top horse was Juice, owned and ridden by Calvin Kendall.
