Precipitation scarce throughout state (Arkansas)

According to USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service, Delta Regional Field Office, Arkansas, for the week ending Oct. 7, there were 6.4 days suitable for fieldwork. Topsoil moisture supplies were 0 percent very short, 10 percent short, 75 percent adequate, and 15 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies were 2 percent very short, 14 percent short, 74 percent adequate, and 10 percent surplus. Low temperatures ranged from 57.6 degrees Fahrenheit at Pocahontas to 71.1 degrees Fahrenheit at Rowher. Highs ranged from 79.0 degrees Fahrenheit at Winslow to 92.7 degrees Fahrenheit at Crossett. Precipitation was scarce throughout the state, with the highest concentration occurring in the southeast part of the state with an average of 0.45 inch.
