High Plains direct slaughter cattle sales report
High Plains weekly weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending Oct. 14, totaled 89,722 head selling, compared to 111,608 head a week ago and 97,311 head last year, according to the USDA Livestock, Poultry and Grain Market News Division, St. Joseph, Missouri.
This report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.
Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 17,594 head, 1,250 to 1,625 lbs., 107.00 to 111.00 (110.06); 65 to 80% Choice, 14,772 head, 1,280 to 1,600 lbs., 110.00 to 111.50 (110.98); 35 to 65% Choice, 3,234 head, 1,220 to 1,560 lbs., 111.00. Dressed delivered basis, over 80% Choice, 15,273 head, 819 to 1,002 lbs., 170.00 to 175.00 (173.44); 65 to 80% Choice, 2,459 head, 853 to 977 lbs., 173.00 to 176.00 (173.97).
